News: The All New, All Bronze Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight
Tudor is on a roll, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. First, there was the Black Bay Fifty-Eight’s—in silver and gold—released at Watches and Wonders earlier this year, and then the release of an all-ceramic Black Bay just last month. But, despite all these new watches, Tudor has just added another exotic watch to its collection. Introducing the all-bronze Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight.
While this isn’t the first time Tudor has introduced a bronze Black Bay, it is the first time the material has been available in the vintage-inspired Fifty-Eight variant. The Fifty-Eight name comes from the watches that inspired its design—late 50s/early 60s Rolex watches. The watch’s 39mm size, distinct over-sized screw-down crown, case shape and domed sapphire crystal all help to really home in that vintage feel.
The Fifty-Eight looks great in bronze—and the addition of a brown dial and bezel complements the exotic material nicely. The warm tones also make this watch the perfect companion for our tanning wrists this summer—whenever the hell that’s meant to start, am I right UK?
Powering the watch is the COSC certified Calibre MT5400. Solid and reliable, the MT5400 features a silicon balance spring—to help combat the damaging effects of magnetism—a 70-hour power reserve and a 28,800 vph beat rate.
So, there you have it, a bronze Fifty-Eight. The addition of the full bronze bracelet is a nice touch—it gives the watch a more substantial feel—and although this watch is only available through selected boutiques, it does go to show that Tudor is no longer a brand that is complacent sitting in the shadows of its beloved sister brand.
